Cherishing good literature is an art form in itself. It requires an environment where literary creations, large or small, physical or digital, classical or edgy are put on pedestals, their extraordinarily unique features tastefully highlighted to inspire wonder, awe and intrigue.
In an age when long form reading is an endangered species; when deep, layered, nuanced and analytical thought needs a visit to museums; when ability to behold contrasting opinions and spot the inevitably overlapping convergence with a mischievous smile is a swiftly receding luminous ray; Knool aims to be the candle that can first ignite then spread the light of rich consumption of varied literature.
Like its companion program, Kural, Knool is also a Sangam. Knool is a reading library, book club and a literary event rolled into one seamless space.
How does it work?
Knool, the reading library, will be open to the public with a soon-to-be published schedule. Knool, the monthly literary event, will be held at-least every month. Knool, the book club, will be meeting as frequently as needed and will be divided into location based chapters moderated by one or more hosts.
Rules
We will be establishing a community guideline as a living document - in the meantime here are some basic rules:
- Membership, participation and inclusion in a chapter are based on invitation and shall be the decision of the hosts.
- Event details including venue, timings and rough agenda will be communicated through the event newsletter to chapter members.
- Younger members attending events both physically and virtually must be accompanied by parents / guardians.
